Hello! I have been following this blog for a few weeks and am finally getting around to signing up. I shoot Nikon, with a D7000 and a D600, and the trinity of Nikon zoom lens and a few other lens. I shoot mostly shore scenes--the beach, the ocean, sunrises, sunsets, water sports, and sailing--lots of sailing. I started shooting in high school, took a 40 year break and got back into it a few years ago. How things have changed! Anyway, glad to meet everyone and join the group!

Island Heights--near Toms River, on Barnegat Bay, not far from the Seasides.

Hi, it's a good idea to use the "quote reply" when responding to a particular post. That way, we all know who you are talking to and can follow the thread more easily. I had to have someone give me the same advice when I was brand new here.

I am very familiar with the Toms River, Seaside area. Spent lots of time there (including Island Heights) in my teens. We used to drive over on a wooden, very noisy bridge. You used to be ble to see it from the "new" bridge. It disappeared from view decades go. It was heartbreaking to see what Sandy did to the area. I have family there and thy were hit hard. We dodged the bullet down my way - twice - Irene AND Sandy.

I am as far south as you can go without needing water wings!

Thanks Made Mike--I appreciate the tip. We were wounded by Sandy--not as bad as some areas, worse than others. I took a ton of pictures of the damage in this area--just heatbreaking.
