I love old mountain towns... all the old buildings are teeming with history (and people, heh). Ouray's buildings have been repaired, reconstructed, and revamped in such charming ways, I love to explore them, inside and out.
Here are a few shots of businesses and private homes of Ouray, a little town in southwest Colorado that sits at an elevation of 7,792 feet.
The thingamarophgidget (Tsk! Mr. Hedgehog doesn't know that's a word; he put a squiggly red line under it!) dangling over the scene is the handle on our kayak, which was atop the Jeep. Yes, I know how to remove it from my picture. No, I don't want to. It was there, after all, and my pictures aren't so much for photo contests as for memories! :) (I did remove it... sometimes.)

Very lovely little town located in a box canyon on Colorado Hwy 550. A must see, it's the starting point or ending for the famous Million Dollar Hwy, depending on your direction, north or south. Be prepared for breath taking scenery as you trek towards Durango
Love your shots. Haven't been there for a couple of years, you have inspired me to visit again. It's incredible in the winter as well.
