Innovative, perhaps, but it certainly is illusive when it comes to categorization - Minimalist (?), Low Key(?), Monochrome (?), Abstraction (?), or New-Fangled Folderol (?). At any rate, I haven't seen one of its like heretofore.
I have spent some time in the past few months photographing old, abandoned houses and farm buildings, giving many of them a Low Key treatment to somewhat isolate them from their immediate surroundings. As I was driving about yesterday I wondered why no one ever shoots new houses, so I determined to do just that. But I didn't want it to be clearly recognizable as a modern home. I wondered if I could "suggest" the presence of a home. I don't know. Did it work?
Nice.... I think you managed ... :) I also think it fits a few of the mentioned categories...
Nice effect. I'd go with abstract...maybe...

Thanks Travesty. I realized this photo probably wouldn't appeal to a wide audience but was honestly curious how they would react. I appreciate your timely response.

Thanks tradio. I agree with you that this is probably more abstract than anything else. I think the touch of greenery in the windows is a nice touch ..... I just didn't have the heart to mask it out.

Yep Jim, it's not image that inspires warm cuddlies. But I get engaged when it comes to imagining where the roof lines would be on the building, and the suggestion of slight setbacks from the front of the house.
I like it. Its different.

Ohhhh yeah, Sunny, it's different for sure. Thanks for stopping in for a quick chat. I'm surprised though ...... you do such beautiful work with color I'm amazed you'd like something with so little of that ingredient.
Yep, it worked, have to think about it for a while as to merits beyond a playtime experiment.

Thanks Jerry. I don't see any future in this art form. The only thing I can say for it that it was a fun experiment to do something exotic with an image and force the brain cells to embrace new patterns of thinking, even if for a very short while.
On the other hand, crazier things have been done. Every hear of Dadaism?
Nice! Kind of reminds me of those shadow dancers with the neon strips on their suits. Cool!

This definitely works for me Bob. Simple, bold, stark and creative.

An excellent example of creative vision, Bob! Congratulations. It's a photographic version of a scratchboard drawing ( design of white lines scratched out of a black background). You've revealed the architect's use of repetitive apexes by deleting the extraneous details. "Modern" architecture departs from such designs with a lot of curves and erratic surface conflicts. Your deliberate choice to include the little non-geometric plant is a delightfully humanistic touch.

Thanks Randy. My, you must have had an interesting upbringing - shadow dancers with neon strips!? So tell me, did you own a black light of your own? Or a lava lamp?
