Is there anything that can be done with the glare on the screen when the day is bright?
You can get a hood. There are many out there depending on your camera model. Google HOODMAN and you should get a lot of hits.
Thank you. Good suggestion.
Anytime. Glad I could help.

I also have the Sony HX9V and as MT Shooter has suggested, check out a Hoodman Loupe. I had one for my main camera, Sony Alpha A300, and I find the Hoodman works great with my HX9V. Just hold it against the LCD and with your other hand on the shutter release, it makes for a very stable camera. The Hoodman has a +/- 3 diopter eyepiece adjustment so easy to set for your eyesight.
Thanks, I'll check it out.

GinnyLee I took the liberty of taking a couple of quick shots of my Sony HX9V and the Hoodman to give you an idea of what it looks like. You will also note that I bought a simple pistol grip from Amazon that screws into the tripod screw on the bottom of the camera. Makes it easy to hold when shooting. I got my Hoodman Loupe from Adorama.com.
Hope this all helps.
Thank for going the extra mile.

You are most welcome GinnyLee.
I have added you to our Sony Buddies list. We now have 43 on the forum, all Sony shooters.
