Woodland Sunflower Helianthus divaricatus is a common plant here in northern Michigan, especially at the edge of woods along roadsides. The sun caught these plants against a dark shaded forest floor with quite a few of the blooms in the same plane of focus or close to it.

Nice colorful contrast. You certainly chose the right focal point.

We have a variety of those that are in bloom now in the woods and along the sides of the road. This is a beautiful image, Mike.

Thanks, Dixiegirl. I didn't know they occurred that far south.

Thanks Bob. A good start for one of your B&W PP treatments, maybe?

Interesting, thanks. I am not familiar with it. Seems it is a SE native. What an unusual bloom it has for an Aster.

I'm sorry, Mike. I'm getting your sunflower post confused with your aster post for some reason. I must need another cup of coffee.

No problem! Happy to find out about a new Aster. Sunflowers are in the Aster family, after all, so close enough!
