FZ200 won't auto focus...

My FZ200 will not auto focus through the view finder. It seems to be Ok when using the screen.
Is there a setting that I can change to correct this? Maybe I inadvertently made a change while fiddling with the buttons. I have not found any information in the manual to help with this.

Or maybe it is broke and needs to go back to the Pany fix it place.

My Panasonic FZ150 has a 3 position focus switch and a focus button on the side of the lens. check the position of the switch.

To clarify:
When depressing the button half way the focus function does not operate- photos are a complete blur.

I have checked the options offered here with no results, thanks for all the suggestions

On page 14 of the "Panasonic FZ200 manual" (in PDF form) under "Diopter adjustment" it shows where the adjustment button is located. It is used to adjust the focus through the view finder.

The diopter adjustment is to provide a clear view of the focusing screen, and is unrelated to the lens' ability to focus.

You are absolutely correct.

One thing the manual doesn't mention that every time you turn the camera off by on/off switch you must readjust the diopter correction. At least that's how my FZ200 works.
Do you mean the image looks blurred in the viewfinder or the picture is out of focus? If you put the camera on a tripod and focus using the LCD and then switch to viewfinder by the button what happens?http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/s-5-1.html

Do you have a big enough target? On my HS-10 at full 30x zoom, the camera won't autofocus if the subject is too samll. For example, at 30 ft. it will autofocus on a smal bird, but at 60 ft it doesn't focus at all because the bird is too small to make a good target for the autofocus.

The image through the viewfinder is blurred and the photo image is as well. The auto focus is not functioning at all through the viewfinder.
I have not tried the tripod yet.
