SOOO Excited...
I am so excited I enrolled in NYIP today. I am doing the Online thing. Has anyone gone through them? If so how did you like it? How long did it take for everything to get to you? Can't wait to start learning.
Just finished my course. Everything came in a good timely fasion. Sent 2 e-mails to the advisor, both were answered quickly. I really liked the course. Learned quit a few tricks.

Took this course a few years ago. Thought it was very good Work at your own speed, instructors critique your photos that you send in and give you suggestions via tape Received material promptly. You also get DVDs so you can see photographers actually doing different projects. You will take written tests at home but if you read the material and do the projects, tests are a breeze. Like anything else you get out of it what you put into it. Good luck, have fun!
"instructors critique your photos " Indeed very important. Luckily our photo club Tampabay Camera Club, does a critique on about 40 during the meeting... the entries are given points and then after all judged,, all are critiqued by the Pros (judges) and then we can throw in our 2 cents worth or rebuttle. VALUABLE,, especially critiques on those photos that are not yours.. I feel lucky that my NYIP substitute is local and personal... Kudos to improvements in our style and execution what ever the route...

I took the course many years ago, it was well worth the time and money.
I am wondering if they still supply the styrafoam head complete with wig during the portrait lessons. It actually was quite useful, an untiring and infinitely patient model.
Good luck and enjoy the learning experience.
Thank you. It sounds like I made the right choice. I looked around and they seemed to have the experence and been around for a long time. :)
Agree with all above, you'll never regret this. Wonder if they still supply the white umbrella too. Well worth the money and covering so many extra subjects both generally
and technically. Have fun.
I took an online class back in 2005. Have no regrets as you learn the basics of photography. Work at your own pace, and gets your grades online.
Good luck and most of all have fun with it while you are learning!

I got the umbrella but not the head, wonder if I can get a refund. The white umbrella doesn't match my yellow raincoat and boots either!

You are funny Rlaugh !
Too bad you missed out on the head. I called her Mabel and changed her make-up often.

Sounds like Mabel was a little more than a passing fancy! Wonder where she is these days. Probably had to give up modeling and is a beauty school practice head.
