Very interesting series!
Which brand/model 105-mm macro lens on your D7000?
What are you using for illumination?

Hello Nikonian72

Thank you very much. It is a Lester A. Dine (Kiron) f2.8 which I just obtained, hand held. I was using a Nikon SB700 on camera flash as a master and a Yongnuo YN560-II as a slave. The mushroom was located deep in a hole in a tree and the white was very white.

This an extraordinary series impeccably done. I can see in the next-to-last picture the fly's ovipositor displayed and, in the last one, buried into the hidden part of the fungus. As good as many in National Geographic.
