JCam Loc: MD Eastern Shore

This was one of the Tall Ships that visited Baltimore last week as part of the War of 1812 Celebration. These pictures were taken when she visited Oxford, MD on her way down to Hampton Roads, VA and points south.

Sh was built in 2009 as an exact copy of a 1800 century Spanish armed cargo ship and is made of very heavy oak keel, beams, and planking, but the decks were teak. To protect her from the "worms" of the Southern Oceans, she has been fiber-glassed over the hull below the water line.

Some of the photos are blown out because of the windows in the background; sorry about that, but I don't know how to prevent it.

I was very surprised at the amenities aboard; I've been aboard several ships of this era and they are generally rather spartan except for the Captain's Cabin; at this time she has a female captain.
