Drop-in ND filters and Circular Polarizer

I need a circular polarizer and an ND400 drop-in filter for a Canon 400mm F2.8 IS. I find the price of the Canon filters prohibitive for the moment. I have not been able to find any third party filters for Canon super telephoto lenses. Has anyone seen such a thing?

Hoya used to offer drop-ins for Nikon lenses, no idea about Canons though. Seems like Schneider (B+W) used to offer them also. I haven't checked for them for a LONG time as I sold my old 400mm F2.8 Nikon MF when I could no longer focus it as my eyes aged.

I would suggest checking with B&H Photo Video in New York City. If any are made, they will have them or at least access to same.

Just curious - how do you plan to use the ND400 filter?

Thanks

I'd strongly suggest a filter specifically for photo'ing the sun!

Good luck!

The ND400 is fully capable of photographing the Sun.
