My wife and I will be in Hilton Head, SC from 5 October to 11 October and would be interested in getting any recommendations of locations to shoot, not just in HH but up and down the coast as well. I'd appreciate any thoughts about locations for wildlife, beach, landscape and night photography. Of course great places to eat could be noted as well! When I return I promise to show some of my shots. Many thanks to all.

We'll definitely give it a shot. Thanks.

Pretty famous lighthouse, I think. Thanks for the reminder.

Harbour Town is where the famous lighthouse is located as well as the megayachts. Sunrises and sunsets can be real nice. There is also a nature trail for wildlife. The salt marshes located on the north end as you go over the bridge are real pretty. Beaufort is old southern town. Great views.
B-58???

My camera club, CNPA, had a four day shoot in this area. Great photo ops are at Fish Haul Creek, botany Bay, and the Savannah Wildlife Refuge which had lots of birds, alligators, and flowers, but you have to be there at sunrise to see them. At Fish Haul Creek you need to go at low tide.

I was to Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge once, but that was years ago and the highlight of the visit was running for cover when a thunderstorm hit. My parents retired to the island and they took us to The Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn during our most recent visit, a small museum about life in the Low Country and nice grounds to tour.

Thanks, Mitch. The B-58 I worked on (ground crew, Photo Maint/Recon) in the early 60s at Bunker Hill AFB, IN. Part of the 305th Bomb Wing, which was part of the 8th AF.

Thanks - I'll definitely try your recommendations. I shot SNWR last year when we were staying in Savannah and it was great. I may drive down that way again.

I'll try Pinckney Island as well as the museum. We're really looking forward to the trip.
