Carry 150-600 Tamron method?

Just received the 150-600 mm lens and as you know nothing else is with it. I've already purchased a protective case for it but now need to know what other do to carry it around as you use it? I've looked at Blackop (?) straps but they seem to have only the base of the ring tripod hole security fastener. Have read of problems with this single attachment method.
Wondering what others are using for a secure method. Thank you,

For larger rigs, 5D-III with Sigma 180 2.8 or Sigma 150-500, I have been quite happy with the Cotton Carrier:

The Black Rapid Sport works well for me. My camera store fixed me up with the rings etc. Also got extra ring and mounted in bottom of camera for use with different lens.

It distributes the weight of the big 150-600 very well and carries well.

Are there any pack mule rentals in your area? :)

I think using the tripod mount of a lens is fairly secure, since you are clearly screwing the strap into a solid piece of metal.

Yes I agree that it would be solid. Problem is I believe that, there have been some on this sight stating using the single point tripod mount, some have had drastic failure problem of the camera free falling to the ground. That is what I fear. That is why I am asking those who have heavy equipment especially the 150-600 lens what are they are doing.

I do appreciate your insight and input.

I use an Op/tech side sling. It has two "loops" so I hook one to my camera and one to the lens ring grip. This allows me to keep a tripod mount screwed into the lens ring grip and holds both camera and lens so no worries about either falling. The sling allows the camera rig to hang an one side where my arm can just hang down and hold the rig to keep it from swinging. Found it comfortable, if holding several pounds can be considered comfortable.
