Anybody on this forum using the Nikon 1?

I bought the Nikon 1 J1. It's the mirrorless generation of cameras, and my first interchangeable lens camera. I wanted interchangeable lens ability and to go beyond point and shoot (although my Canon Power Shot did pretty much anything I wanted). I read a lot of reviews that are unfavorable on what you get versus what you paid, but I have no DSLR experience to compare this camera to. My problem is there isn't a lot of documentation I can find about this kind of camera - a few product reviews that tend to compare features with DSLR and, of course, the on line manual, which is a 200 page beauty if you already know cameras and just need to know this one's quirks. It's all quirky to me (but beautiful pictures compared to my little Canon). I haven't seen any forum discussion on it, and wondered if anybody else is using this kind of camera.

I got the Nikon 1 V1 several weeks ago and I'm very happy with it. If you bought the camera with the 2 lens kit then you can totally let your imagination run rampant. The only drawback is there are only (at this time) 4 lenses for it. Nikon also has the FT1 adapter that can be used with other Nikkor lenses (add 27mm) to the focal length. I have the V1 Kit with 2 zoom lenses + the FT1. This provides a long focal length reach plus use of the FT1. If you use the FT1 with other Nikkor lenses, you will need to shoot in Manual (M) mode. Also there will be a loss in light uses in the camera. I have been using the AUTO ISO setting (100-3200) and found that it "agrees" with me well. I use a 16GB/class 10 card and for this camera - I'm ready for almost anything - almost.
GOOD LUCK

The last review I read about the Nokon 1 said it's about on par with the competion. Nothing outstanding about it.
