Your photograph of the red crested cardinal is incredible! If you look at the blades of grass immediately below the bird you can see the "depth of field" marked perfectly in them. I have never been able to capture that, excellent job! The bird is so well focused it appears alive. This is a text book example of DOF.

Thank you so much. I was so pleased with the way that one turned out. Of course it has a little editing.

What a lovely set of images. It is interesting to note, all but one of these birds are introduced species. Non-native wildlife are prominent on many islands. You did a nice job of capturing these images.

Thanks so much I also posted a different set of these birds in the Part 1 series.
So which is the one bird that is a true native?

Very nice shots. I love the black swan in the koi pond. My uninformed guess as to the Hawaiian native would be either the common mynah or the red jungle fowl.

Great photos! Your red crested cardinal shot is MUCH better than those I got on a recent trip to visit my daughter, who is stationed on Oahu. You've inspired me to do better, next trip!
