Sunflower field sunset

it looked like we had a glorious sunset in the making last night so I decided to head over to a neighbors sunflower filed and see what I could find---sure would have been a lot more fun if the mosquitoes had not been trying to eat me alive while I was there

I like the 2nd one. Looks like a good job of fill flash and natural lighting. Flowers look like they,re posing for the camera. Nice.

Good use of composition, on the theme of "Sunflower field sunset" the middle photograph works for me. Well taken and processed on all three.

your sunflowers are still smiling. ours are drooping and ready for hunting season. I really love sunflowers, they make me so happy and I love yours. thanks so much for sharing. deb

thank you erickter, the lighting was gorgeous, but kind of tricky--the fill flash was kind of an experiment to brighten up the flowers a bit. And yes it did seem like those were posing!

thank you leica, so far I only use picassa and didn't do much to these. My goal this next winter is to learn photoshop and I am excited to get more creative with that!

hi grandma, there really aren't many sunflowers raised around here anymore. these are confectionary ones [for people to eat] I don't think the heads are as big as the oil ones. This guy did get these planted kind of late and we are all worried for him that they won't make it if we get frost soon. Others were blooming in July in another field I found.
