If you use a wireless remote control do you push it down all the way to relesae the shutter or do you have to do it half way to focus. This would be it in AF-C or AF-C?

Good question... I have mine set for back button focusing so not sure.. I took 60 photos (yesterday) of the sunset using a tripod and my electronic shutter release (radio 2.4 ghz by Vello) and all were in focus. But all were on the horizon too so that may not be a good judge. Before I went to back button focus then yes, I would half press then follow through.

Good question. I have mine set for back button as well and have not used my remote much lately. Before I would focus the camera and then just press the remote. Not sure that is right or not? Open to hear from those who know.

I have a Nikon wireless for my D200. Very nice. works the same as shutter button (1/2 way to focus). I use for remote shooting. don't try to use instead wired cable. best to use wireless from a distance. too easy to miss a shot by not getting the transmitted IR to the IR receiver. If you are standing back a ways (and remember to point the sensor toward you), it works very nicely. but if you are hands on and need to adjust the camera, wired remote is required

On further review:
I tested it in all modes using back button and then retested shooting with the shutter focus.. It always worked using shutter focus on the remote release and never on back button... Ironically, I put the camera on back button focus and used the usb to computer and camera control pro 2 and it focused using the computer to control it, however, I used the usb and Lightroom tethered shooting and it didn't focus. Camera control pro has an "autofocus and shoot" button on the computer screen and a focus button. Lightroom does not. So shooting with Lightroom in backbutton focus, I either had to manual focus or put the camera back in shutter button focus. Guess which software I will be using for my computer controlled shooting... lol
