10 being excellent. I would love to get feedback of what you would've done differently with this image. I currently don't have software and would also like feedback on lightroom vs photoshop. I've used photoshop a few times before. Currently this image is unedited.
I give it a 9 for composition. I agree they are beautiful young ladies.
I myself am a Lightroom user almost exclusively b/c I shoot a lot of photos and enjoy the ease of Lightroom. I have on occasion used photoshop but will have to go back to school to learn all the wonderful things photoshop offers !!
:)
The girls = 10
The photo = 9 (background?)
I love the way you captured the relationship between the two subjects, and between them and the camera. I do agree that the sky distracts a bit from the girls -- but a little judicious cropping fixes that. I wouldn't take out the whole sky -- just the part behind the girl on the left. Don't worry about cutting off the very top of her head. It would also help to crop the right edge closer to the hair of the girl on the right. The left and bottom edges are perfect where they are. Just to play, I was able to do this with the free, basic tools in Windows Gallery, and boost the contrast a bit too. Try it! BTW, these are minor tweaks, and I've never taken a photo that couldn't be improved by a little cropping and tone adjustment. Not every shot is worth the effort, but this certainly is. Well done!

I would love to see your edit. Thank you.
Background hedge cloned over sky, then ran the pic through PhotoBoost. I think there are Hogs who could do better using Photoshop. The girls skin is so clear and smooth that I thought sharpening would enhance rather than detract. :-) Del
I would give it an 8, my eyes keep going to the sky. Needs to have a different background.
I give it an 8. I do agree with others that a better background would have helped the shot. I use lightroom and photoshop. If I could only use one of them I would choose photoshop.
I agree that the background is a problem, and the lighting is a little flat, but very even. the curl across the face on the girl on the left(IMO) distracts, too. I would say 5-6, just because of the background, and the "cheesey" smile of the younger girl. Get them to giggle, and shoot a bunch. This is a good start - if they will "model", you will have time to plan the background and lighting.
I am not qualified to critique but lovely photos.
I would give it an eight, background is sufficiently blurred. PP could add some color and contrast and make it a 9 or a 10.

I honestly can't find any way to fault this one. My eyes are capable of "selective viewing", in other words, I can ignore the background. I did try to change the background in Adobe Photoshop Elements 10. I will show you the results with your permission. Beautiful girls!
I have taken the liberty of a small edit. You will see there is little difference to your original as it stood on its own.
