Miles from anywhere is some gorgeous beach scenery called Clinton Rocks. We stayed in a remote town called Cann River. Only place to eat was the hotel, apparently a big gathering place on a Friday evening. All the locals were gathered there for the Friday Night raffle. I don't remember all the prizes, but one was a package of pork chops.
As Sherry and I were eating dinner, we took turns trying to guess why each person's ancestors had been sent to the Australian Penal Colony centuries before. The pickpockets, prostitutes and flim flam artists were the easiest to pick out. ;)

greymule. Great pics. You are very fortunate to get to travel like you do. Had a chance 20 years ago to go to Austarlia when my dad was stationed there, but cost was a factor. My sister stayed and lives in Alice Springs
