I know it is not yet officially open (next week) but anyone heard about any firm announcements on new or updated Canon or Nikon equipment? Do the brands wait for the actual fair or are release events held before the event?

You forgot the MB-D16 battery grip.

The 750 sort of looks like a glorious video camera.

"Forgot" is your viewpoint, old chap ...... I did read about it about 6 hrs ago, but those grip-type things don't enter the equation for me and I have no use for them.

Let's just say that, for that reason, I just "failed to mention" !!

I don't normally keep up with rumours, but read somewhere that Olympus is planning to announce/release a full-frame, mirrorless OM-D camera with E-mount.
Some specs were listed, but can't remember what they were, and can't find the website back.

Oh, and there's also supposed to be a M.Zuiko 1.4 teleconverter coming... I wonder about the price....

Already announced apparently is the E-PL7:

I'm just surprised I have had no info about that one from Olympus itself.

Where do you come up with an Olympus "full frame" rumor? That would be pie-in-the-sky thinking for Olympus. First, they have no lenses for it. Second, it would negate their entire progression over the last 8 years and total commitment to the 4/3's/m4/3's sensor as they have put all their eggs in that one basket, so to speak.

Like most everyone else, I think, who reports on rumours: From the internet. There actually are several websites that mention this, but until such time as there is an announcement from Olympus itself, it remain just that: a rumour.

It's a D810 with a 24mp sensor instead of a 36mp sensor for 30% lower price. That seems like much more than a "glorious video camera"! The D810 has basically the same video features, so I guess that's an expensive glorious video camera? :-)

Hardly a D810 as it utilizes the D610 body. More of a D610 with the D810 video features for $400 more money.

I have done 3 searches and can find no mention of an Olympus full frame rumor anywhere.

Olympus is supposedly announcing a 4k video upgrade for the OM-D E-M1. Full frame? Nah, not even APS-C.

Oh, they're there allright:

http://camyx.com/rumors/2014/05/olympus-om-d-full-frame-mirrorless-camera/

http://www.dpreview.com/articles/4811155800/mockups-emerge-of-new-olympus-om-g

There are other websites as well, but I've gotta shut down the 'puter, company's coming.

The DPReview "rumor" was a well publicized April Fools joke (read the GREEN disclaimer at the end of the article). "OMG"? Yeah right, like that fooled anyone, but may be you and your camyx.com writer who clearly fell for it hook, line, and sinker. There is clearly no room in the OM-D series bodies for a sensor that is four times as large as the 4/3's sensor that resides in there at the moment.
