Took this at Montserrat Spain. Not a beautiful day but at least I got a shot of the chapel built into the side of the cliff.
I'm sure EVERY DAY is a beautiful day when you're there!
Thanks Paula. Wish it had been a prettier day but just to be there was amazing.
Wow! Is it a monastery? How do they get up to it?

Very interesting shot, Rob47!
I got to wondering how one would get there, other than by helicopter? :D
To get to where I took the shot at the mountain top monastery, it's a drive on a narrow road traversing the mountain. To get to the chapel you have to take a gondola higher and then walk back down. Have no idea how they did it in the 1600's. Beautiful location. Thanks for the compliment!
Lauren, yes it's a mountain top monastery. You can get to where I took the shot by car, bus, cable car or even the train can get close. We went by car and the views were amazing even on a less than perfect day. To get to that chapel is a hike but you can take a cable car higher and walk back down to it. Stunning views! Thanks!

Inspirational view. I can imagine living there and spending most of my time contemplating the view and weather.

Yes Bob it's a beautiful spot and those are the two things you would contemplate. Not much else for the monks to do there. Quite a long history in those mountains. Thanks
This is an outstanding photo, Rob! I just love it! What an amazing and beautiful place! Very well done!
