My husband was a Marine, he was in 1st Force Recon. He was stationed in Chu Lai. He is still pissed off.
OOPPSS I guess "was" is not the correct word.

"Was" is past tense of "is". I too was in VN, but it doesn't mean I 'is' (sic) still in VN.

Your statement is not confusing, it shows you are confused with simple English!

I was there in 68-69 and was at An Khe which is where the 1st Cav was stationed and only a few miles from where this battle at I Drang took place. This was about 60 miles south of the DMZ.
My wife and I are going to Vietnam on the 9th of October and will return to that very area along with other sites.
The last time I said something about this it sparked a large amount of controversy about the war itself. Please keep those comments to yourself. Those of us who were there paid a huge price. My price was minimal compared to those who came home in pieces or not at all. The families of those are still paying the price.
I for one am, did not agree with a lot about how the war was fought, but I am proud to have served.

I flew the advanced party of the 1st Cav into An Khe when it was nothing more than a dirt strip. Made many trips in and out of there after that. Always hated flying through the An Khe pass at night as the VC had a habit of setting up a 50 cal there. At night the tracers looked like basket balls coming at you. Make sure you post some of your pictures after your trip.
