I just ordered the Vello from B&H - it's on the truck as we speak. Having used Kenko in the past I'm sure the mechanical quality is better and, if I planned to use them a lot, I would go with Kenko. But, I'm just fooling around and I figure if I'm careful with them the Vello will suffice.

For $79.00, are the Vello tubes Auto, meaning they have Electrical contacts , so the Cameras Auto Focus and Aperture work correctly when the Vello tubes are used on your Camera and Lens???
I did see the Kenko 3 tube set at B&H for $129.00, just today.

I've got cheap auto extension tubes, and they work fine. Not crisp and tight in fit, and if fitted with a heavy lens they can sometimes lose communication but that is very trivial. Seconds to fix.
I have never understood why one would spend the price of a good tripod head or good external flash on a set of hollow, glassless tubes, the price of which adds nothing to magnification or image quality. Just think about it.
