We visited this very interesting museum and loved all the things we saw. I'm so glad they gave me permission to take pictures inside...but once again, I only had my point and shoot with me. :( Many were taken through glass, so you'll probably notice the glare even though I didn't use a flash.

12. This was especially interesting to Al since his mother's maiden name was Nase, and this is Naas, from which her name most likely derived.

Thank you for these..good job!
Very interesting series, Sue!
So how come "once again" only p&s? :) Gotta carry all your cameras all the time - lol.
Thanks for taking us along on this wonderful tour Sue!!
I'm a quilter, so those are the shots I found most interesting!!
:-D
A very educational and informative post, well done! I really enjoyed the Bible pics. I am a fan of lettering and sketches that were a part of the older writings. Sketches that were a work of art and usually signified a chapters beginning or the beginning of an important paragraph. Thank you for posting!
That's a very good question, koalaroo! And I don't think I can really answer it with a definition, but the one we have in our livingroom is a house blessing in broken German. Al just helped me with a definition.."A fractur is a sampler with that tells a story...an event." Okay, I just looked in the book I bought. It says, "An important witness to the interpretation of the past.". But some are like ours...a house blessing, are just that...a house blessing! lol Sorry I can't do better.
Thanks Linda! Well, I don't want to leave it in the car and it's a pain to lug around...but there are times I think I should! :)
Thank you Angela! I'm so glad you enjoyed them! Their quilts are beautiful; I have even more pictures! lol
