Real Time Live View

I was on a photo trip recently with other photogs. Some had Canon bodies and some had Olympus OM-D bodies and the remainder were Nikon shooters. The Canon and Olympus users were able to use LV and then vary exposure in real time to see the effect. On the OM-D the histogram was real time feedback. I had to take a shot to evaluate. We were shooting sunrises and I am using D300s and D700 bodies. My question is: do any of the new Nikon bodies allow real time feedback using LV? Thanks.

I'm booting this topic back up because I'm curious. I shoot Oly OMD cameras and this is a wonderful feature for me especially with sunrises where you can't see a darned thing - you can just watch it develop on screen and stop it when you are ready. For me, it beats the heck out of guessing and checking and doing it again, because the light changes every second. I figured some other companies had found out how to add it, maybe even through firmware? I'm no expert on that, but it seems some pretty great features sometimes come through on firmware updates, things you wouldn't think possible without inventing a new camera.

Like Minniev, I shoot OM-D E-M1
I have really come to enjoy and very much like the electronic viewfinder. I do not like to use the screen on the camera back to compose and take pictures, but like the "extra support" of putting the camera against my face.
Even in that viewfinder, I can see the changing light. I've often got the camera on Aperture priority. When I point the camera at the tv screen, it shows in the viewfinder with correct lighting and colours. Then, when I move the camera (without changeing any of the settings) to "see" the area beside the tv (window which is quite dark, the sun isn't up yet) the view changes and I've again got correct colours and lighting.
In short, Aperture is set, so is ISO, but the camera changes Exposure as needed and immediately shows it in the viewfinder.

I use Canon equipment, and only use live view when on a tripod (almost all my images are on tripod) and use live view only to get critical focus. It is especially helpful for macro or when I want to isolate the main subject by using a wide aperture.

What the OP is referring to is called, in my camera, Live Time. You set it up sort of like Live View (on tripod of course), start the capture, watch onscreen (or on your phone or tablet) as it "develops" and using a remote trigger or your cell phone to control the shutter, stop it when it "develops" to where you want it. I was curious like the OP, it's so useful I figured it was incorporated into other cameras too.

Ahh that I can do with my D7100 either wifi from the phone or using the camera tethered to Camera Control Pro2 or Lightroom.
