The first time I went out to the lower 48 was by car in '53 and the first Alcan pavement was when we crossed over the Frazer at Hope..

This is New Westminster - the bridge is the skytrain bridge over the Fraser River ... near Vancouver, BC Canada ... we just had a gazillion sockeye salmon come up here ... but they are long gone

I've got a vision of the Port Mann sitting in a fog bank at night with the two main structure supports sticking out the top of the fog on a long exposure.
