To the name calling conservatives on this forum: imagine that a democrat said this and think about what you would say about that person's level of intellect. I am curious to hear what you say since it was a republican.

My prediction: you will somehow blame Obama and begin calling him names.

Maybe even THEY cannot think of a way to turn this into something they can bash since they don't dare criticize their own.

I still predict someone will blame the President, though. Let's wait and see......

Oh yeah, tell them how wrong they were, Donna. But you're on chit-chat, so you're on your good behavior, right?

As far as the conservatives coming out and calling names....you're right. This is a dumb post.

While he correct in saying that hospitals are not risk free, access to hospitals and healthcare is not a bad thing. As someone who has spent a 35 year career in hospitals, the care that the vast overwhelming number of patients receive is first rate. But even the best care can't save everyone. Are mistakes made? certainly. Thankfully very few. Thee biggest risk is infection. Bacterial resistance to antibiotics is a real danger. When I have been a hospital patient I insist that before any hospital staff member so much as touch me that they must wash their hands. I don't make any friends that way but I have not contracted a hospital borne infection either. I should add that the 2 bacteria that are the most dangerous causes of nosocomial (hospital caused) infection are MERSA and C.Diff. They both can be very serious.

Though I will have to say his "deliverance" of the message certainly lacked a lot to be desired, I have to wonder if there may be some information left out. Since I am in the medical field I will say the good of hospitals FAR outweighs the bad. No one lives forever and to strictly blame a hospital is ludicrous. What was not expressed in the article that we in the medical field are dealing with now is that some people who now have insurance that did not have it before are abusing the clinics. example:a lady who is no stranger to allergies gets a post nasal drip on one of the days where it was announced on the news that the pollens were heavy and air quality was not good. This lady with severe allergies decides to go jogging anyway.....thus the reason the "drip" appears. Then calls and INSIST that she needs an appointment right away for a "severe allergy attack". So, #1 - She lied and said she had a severe allergy attack. #2 The office bends over backwards to try to accommodate her (which takes time and man power) #3 She refuses to go to the E.R. (which pretty much states its not an emergent situation though she said it was) #4 When she arrives she does not want to fill out paperwork. #5 When she does see the doctor, she had to wait 20 minutes past her appointment time though she had been told she was being "worked" in she threw an enormous fit in the waiting area. And last - She was upset that the doctor only spent 5 minutes with her when he realized that she lied about her emergency and her only complaint was "nasal drip". The ERs and county hospital clinics are experiencing these type of incidents daily. So, limited access to hospitals / clinics in this case would be a good thing. What many people don't realize is there are many people out there who are lonely and / or hypochondriacs and will use a hospital or clinic setting just for the attention. I don't believe that was the point that the politician was trying to impress...but it is something to consider.

Yeah, wh**ever... T***h is t***h. This has nothing to do with intellect but if a comparably qualified democrat had made these same statements, in his or her very next breath they would have been demanding more government intrusion and control to "fix" the problem because that's what you do.

Your prediction fails.

We generally tend to weed out our dummies before we let them run for office. They often run as Democrats.

1.) We're k*****g 1 million to 1.5 million people a year in Hospitals? Bulls**t.

2.) If families are falling into a doughnut hole of coverage, blame your dumbass governor for opting out of ACA for your state.
