Seems pretty silly to me. About 90% of the posts in chit chat are controversial and degrade to name calling and insults.

Keep all political, religious, conspiracy nut, racial, etc. type topics in here and use the Chat Forum for real chat.
You know, stuff anybody might talk to friends and coworkers about.
TV, movies, sports, music, hobbies, kids, cars, food, motorcycles, complain about the weather, talk about your job or family, non-controversial current events, etc.
Regular conversation subjects.
The Chat Forum *could* actually be a fun place if it was focused more on light hearted topics, while keeping the other stuff in The Attic.
Keep all political, religious, conspiracy nut, racial, etc. type topics in here and use the Chat Forum for real chat.
You know, stuff anybody might talk to friends and coworkers about.
TV, movies, sports, music, hobbies, kids, cars, food, motorcycles, complain about the weather, talk about your job or family, non-controversial current events, etc.

Sad thing is, a civil conversation on religion would be really interesting. Not that its likely in today's overheated climate..... And I'm not talking about g****l w*****g!

Just rename chit chat as the attic. Why didn't admin just establish a "non-controversial chit chat section?" Guess that the definition of non-controversial would be controversial though...

I don't feel that all religious discussion should be relegated to the corner somewhere. I don't believe it's controversial until the conversation becomes inflamed. I don't think, however, it's helpful to overload the forum with a multitude of related threads. Even I get bored with that. After all...if religion isn't for you...skip it. Maybe Admin should have set up a forum just for Jokes and Fun and left Chit-Chat alone.

I would second that. The posted jokes are about the only topics that don't get controversial!

Yes, I was thinking that the "Basement" would be a better place. Who wants all that noise stomping around on top of your head? Then, upon further reflection, I thought "Juvenile Detention Center" would be most apt -- but maybe that in itself is too controversial!
