I saw angler's first kingfisher today, great picture, reminded me of my first Kingfisher a couple weeks ago. It won't compete with angler's, but it's mine. Them buggers are fast. I see him flying across the water and land in a tree, I couldn't see him in the tree SO, I took a bunch of pictures of the tree, did I get lucky or what.
I cropped this to max

Just knowing he wouldn't stay there very long, I was ready, got a quick burst as he took off. I cropped this some also.

I see him quite often, way off in the distance, this is the closest he's come so far. If I was to set up a blind I could probably get some really good shots, but my boat won't fit in that water, I'd have to get my feet wet. :D
Thanks for looking.
Nice shots , I know what you mean, I have had no luck shooting several in my area, can't get close enough even with a quite long lens. Keep trying

I think they know I'm there, and just teasing me.
Thanks for looking.

Very nice Frank W. You are right, they are fast. Good shots of a male

And could have been a little better if I had a 300mm lens, maybe.
Thanks for looking.
Great job on the flight shot! They are frustrating to shoot, but oh-so-cute :)

Ahhh yes, problem being the list just keeps getting longer, can't quite keep up with it.
Congrats. Little bird is cute and I think both pictures are neat.
