What a superb set of photos! I wonder if the WWII Museum in New Orleans would like to have copies. These photos need to be preserved!
I didn't know there was a WWII museum. Now that I know there's a museum and where it's located I'll contact them and see if their interested, Thank you for that information Ed.
Since you can see the number on the plane in #4 I'm hoping I can find out what happened to it. Thank you for looking wilikioti.
The only number on the plane that I can see is "69" on the forward fuselage which I think is part of the name given to the B24 by the crew. Identification numbers were on the tail fins and you can trace the planes with this number. If we had more of the name it would be possible to trace with it.
I stated this earlier, my dad was a nose gunner on the b-24 bomber, and was shot down, i found his medal he recieved and i just wanted to share it with everybody

My uncle was shot down too, and sat out the rest of the war as a POW. Thanks for posting a photo of your dad's medal.
simply amazing time capsule. Father in law was a waist gunner in B17, 25 missions over Germany. As humble and giving a person any may could wish to meet.
