I want to become good at AP, I'm disabled

I was always told growing up that I wouldn't be able to produce any pictures because of my shakiness. I've wanted to do video AP on my laptop to ease the stress on my neck . I got a Orion starshoot for my eq80 refractor on a cheezy eq1 mount w/ ra motor drive 2 yrs. ago and haven't looked back. Straight away I tried for 6 mos. to image the moon with my left hand, that's all I can use. I'm a disabled astronomer with the will to accomplish a lot of things. From trying to get my head around a Levenhuk color digital T510NG telescope camera that fits in the focuser and doesn't require a barlow. To trying to learn more processing skills, to trying to get over the learning curve of my used lxd55 mount.

I admire your determination.

Now, tell me what video AP is, so I can better appreciate what your goals are. They seem to be pretty lofty.

I guess you do a lot of your work at night.

We do have an Astronomical Photography section on this forum. That is where all the star shooters hang out. Your questions will be answered by people who have been shooting stars and constellations for years, Here's a link:

Before giving up on yourself as a regular photographer because of shakiness....take a look at the CamRanger which is controlled by iPad.

This is also along the lines of my immediate thoughts.
There are also cameras out now that have built in wifi (Canon 6D and also the 70D I believe).
Focus and exposure able to be controlled with phones and pads and use the screens as a live view.

Choose a branch of photography that suits this type of shooting - which it seems you have, and go for your life.
Where there is a will, there is a way.

Speedy and yall , I have used a Nikkon L26 5x some but, most of my daytime imaging is done with a 80mm refractor and Levenhuk T510NG digital color telescope camera. I've started imaging just about all the cool things that I see during the day and on the clearer nights view and image.

Stepping Beyond, your use of a laptop is an excellent idea that more of us should use.

I use my 32" HDTV to do macro. Consider the area of a 32" TV vs a 3" camera LED. Actually about 100X. Much easier to adjust focus. Yes, a little difficult to carry it outside! NO, just kidding about that.

Note that there are 5 different sizes of HDMI plugs. Also not all laptops will take an HDMI input.

I admire your determination, but most of the words in your post are foreign to me.

I'm sure some of our star shooters will have good suggestions. As for me, I'd say keep shooting and trying to improve. There's no such thing as perfection, so enjoy your photography.

Yep, it's a bummer. I shake too and suffer extreme weakness at times. But you guessed that from my name. Stick with it because I'm sure you'll get all the help you need from other hoggers. Have as much fun as you can stand and rest when you need to.

May God pour his blessings upon you now and always. (If you don't believe it matters not. Prayers will be soaring upward. Watch for improvement however slight.)
