On a walk I found a strange growth on an oak leaf. This was the only leaf that had this growing out of its leaf points. There were no others.
I broke off the small branch and brought it home to take a few more photo with the addition of a speedlight and diffuser.
What do you think this is? I cannot find any info on this.

Outside, still attached to the oak tree.

Well, if that's the case, I'm glad I put them outside after I took their pictures. Thanks Scott.

This afternoon I brought the stem and leaf back into the house and took more shots of the mystery appendages. It has been about 48 hours since I took the first images.
It appears that something has emerged from quite a few of the small white eggs on the ends of the fragile stems.
I went back and looked at all the images of Lacewing eggs on the Macro site and I believe this is what they are. Thank you,Flyextreme, for remembering these other photos and saying something.
I'm posting some new images that I took in the house with the 105mm macro lens with a Raynox M-150 diopter lens attached as well.
These eggs are really amazing. I had to crop and sharpen the images because of the tiny eggs and the focal distance. These are not very clear or sharp, so please don't judge the quality of the photos. I'm still learning to use the Raynox lens and it throws my focus judgement off. I sound like I know what I'm talking about but I really don't... yet.

Upon further research, they do appear to be Lacewing eggs.... I had a similar looking egg ( only one egg & slightly different)that was to a spider (so said Bug Guide), thus my 1st erroneous guess

That guess was as good as any, Scott. Thanks. Didn't even hear from Douglass...he's being suspiciously silent... so I appreciate your input.

I believe Douglass identified a similar photo I took a few months ago as lacewing eggs.
