I want to find out how to take a b&w photo and add color to one small section. I don't know what to search under. I'm using Paintshop Pro x4 and I have PSE9. Where do I look? Thanks!

if you use photoshop mask the area you want to modify and then you can work with that area only.

Sort of depends on what you want to do. Do you want to shoot B/W and select your own color for one area? Or do you want to "restore" actual color to part of the image? If the latter, you should shoot in color, duplicate the image in a new layer, desaturate that layer, and then use a layer mask to reveal the colored areas you want. (Oversimplified explanation, but you get the idea.)

first pull up your colored pic---adjust it the way you
want--color,sharpness ect.
then make a duplicate copy, make the dup a black and white
then erase the part you want in color-----majic.

Take your shot in color.
Select the area that you want to keep in color.
Reverse the selection, such that the rest of the image ends up selected.
De-saturate the color from the shot, which will result in the majority of the shot ending up in B&W and your desired area still in color.

I'm not familiar with your editor, but this is a fairly easy thing to do in Photoshop, so I'm assuming that your editor allows for it also.

I use photoshop and you convert yur photo to b/w and use the eraser to erase the part that you want to have color.
