Does anyone know how to maintain a consistent colour in a processed image when dragging and pasting into Gmail. I am embedding into the actual email not attaching as a file.
I have matching colour space through each stage of my processing. The camera (5DMkiii), Lightroom and Photoshop are all set to RGB.
After processing from Raw and saving into PSD then JPG I have a consistent colour in both files. My monitor is colour calibrated and regular updated with Datacolour spyder.
I have been using "save" to web in Photoshop. I also tried saving a smaller Jpeg file and using that. Both looked fine on the monitor but changed in colour the moment I dragged and pasted into Gmail.
The colour change is a significant increase in saturation. looking forward to hearing how this may be resolved. Thanks.

What kind of RGB? Adobe? sRGB? Colormatch?
In camera AdobeRGB. In Lightroom and Photoshop AdobeRGB(1998)

Embedding into 'gmail' will most likely change to sRGB. As will a good share of other viewing applications. ATTACH the file if you want it to remain the same, or change to sRGB before embedding.
Thanks. I went to Photoshop saved the colour space in colour settings to sRGB then saved as JPG. If i open this saved file in photoshop it looks fine. Drag into Gmail and its cactus again. I guess I have to accept its the issue with the viewing application. Is there another way of changing to SRGB. I know i can do this when I save for web in Photoshop.

what happens if you save the picture out of gmail - does is maintain the cactus color or change back to the original color?

I don't use Gmail too much, but is there a setting to enhance pictures you send with it?
EDIT: It looks like you can turn Enhance on and off.

Well, right off the bat, you spell "color" wrong. How do expect the program to understand what you are upto???
My understanding is that most browser and email apps support sRGB but not necessarily any others. I process in ProPhoto because of its wider gamut, and if I post in email or online I first change the profile to sRGB. If I don't the color is awful.

That's the way most countries spell it "Colour"

You are correct, that's the way most countries incorrectly spell it.

I will have to watch my Australian slang, but it did give me a laugh. Downunder "cactus"means its no good or broken.
Thanks for your input.
When I capture back out of Gmail the colours return to the original. Looks like its only effecting the colour while its imbedded in the email.

Gmail probably uses the sRGB color standard, as it is more universal and less specialized than Adobe RGB's larger gamut.
Just export to Gmail in the sRGB colorspace.

Blog? Where?
To the point, I've never experienced that problem with Gmail. That said when I embed in Gmail, I do use sRGB simply because that's what I was taught by my SIL
