Vivitar battery work w/ Sony A65? Does anyone know if a Vivitar battery VIV-SB-FM500H will work with the Sony battery charger? Will this work with the A65V?

Does anyone know if a Vivitar battery VIV-SB-FM500H will work with the Sony battery charger? Will this work with the A65V?

If the battery works on the camera, then it should be fine in the charger.

i bought an oem battery that claimed alpha xx compatible. did not work i my 65. looked at the forums and apparently the 65 was touchier about oem batteries than the other cameras in the alpha series.

i ead the reviews and seems like others have said the vivitar works in their 65. i ordered one from ebacy $13 including shipping.see how it goes

The battery did not work in the camera. I thought that the charger was the problem.

The one tried to use was VIV-SB-FM500H and it does not work. So like you, I ordered another Vivitar battery that had NP-FM500H number. I hope this works.

OEM is the original equipment manufacturer not aftermarket.

I bought a package from Amazon that included (2) Vivitar VIV-SB-FM500H and a charger. The batteries work fine in my A65, but won't charge with the Sony charger.

I use 3rd party batteries in both the A77 and A65. Been doing this for a few years with no problems and no bad batteries. Some are 2.5 years old and still hold a charge like new. I get about 400 to 450 shots with both OEM and 3rd party.
