Hello Splumb, I like this a lot. The colours are so soft and autumnal with great textures and good focus. My one other observation is that it would benefit greatly from some perspective correction. Your viewpoint was from slightly above the window which has distorted it's "squareness". The correction is easily accomplished in a variety of editors and is well worth the effort. I tried it in Photoshop with the "Perspective Crop Tool" In just a few moments it moved your already good picture up a level.

Graham, Thanks so much for the positive comments. I really appreciate it. You are absolutely correct about straightening. I'm a rookie at Photoshop but will try this. Thanks! Scott

I really like images like this. You've done it well. The focus is correct both inside and outside the window.

My only critique would be that the log above the window is lighter than the rest, and it draws my eye away from the view through the window. I think I'd try darkening it just a tad.

Nice shot!

Thanks AzPicLady for the comments. I looked at this photo again this morning and you're right. I'll try that. I appreciate the critique!

I do love this shot. Nicely focused, well exposed. I love the overall composition, though I would like to see you fix the verticals and crop a little closer on the window. I want to know I'm looking out a window, but I want to see the scene outside the most.

I also want to know I am looking out a log cabin window, so leave enough that I still know that.

Thanks to all who commented. These remarks made me go back and reevaluate the photo. I did the straightening, obviously I should have done that before posting. In the process I cropped it a bit. I too, like some of you above, like the different textures of the wood and the frame so I didn't want to lose to much of that. Here's the revised version. Thanks for all of you creative suggestions!

Much better. It is amazing what a few tweaks can do. Now having said that I have to delete this image. Please repost it in it's own thread with a link to it in this thread. :D
