Have been trying to take decent panos and with PSE it's easy, just time consuming. Now that I have a couple I'm sorta proud of, I'm at a loss at printing them. Is there a standard size for panos and where should I try to get them printed?

I print at 900 x 297mm. This is because I can get that size as cut paper, which will go through my R3000 without hastle. The other way is using roll paper. I haven't gone down this route as yet. Looking at it though. Thise gives a framed size of just over a Metre wide, which is managable without having to buy a stately home to hang them in. (I have a staggered hanging of 4 on the stairway.) With reguard to paper, you should be able to get the paper in the USA as the support for technology tends to come from the States to UK, not the other way about. I'm sure it will be available, it's just a matter of searching it out.

Just one bit of advice with panos though. Double check your horizons, then check again, and use a spirit level when hanging them. They are not forgiving when it comes to such matters.

Keep on taking them, but be careful, they are addictive. You will find yourself thinking in letterbox format. Portraits could be an interesting challange.

Roll papers are readily available, and are really the only way to go for large panorama prints. I have gone as high as 40" x 13', but it's easy to go much larger. It isn't easy at all to find places to hang big prints though.

Try millers labs - they will custom print anything. They own Mpix, which also offers some limited pano printing. And lasty you can always print with a border top and bottom and have it trimmed ie if you want a 24x48 pano get a 36x48 print and trim it.

If you have a Costco nearby then you can get panos printed at 12X24 and 12X36 for under $5. Anything wider than that you will have to go elsewhere.

Many mail order print labs will print panos at 6 inches high to however long or 12 inches by however long, they charge by the inch

In addition to the 12x24 & 12x36, Costco also prints panos in 20x60 and 24 x 72 sizes. I've had them print 4 panos over the past month as a price and quality test against my local custom print shop, and Adoramapix.
Results. Quality is superb. Price is incredible. Size options very good.

Try out meridian, they will print for you up to 10 feet wide. Prices are very favorable too!

The panorama was 18"x9" on 24"x15" paper. It was a 360x180 printed flat

Now, Sam's Club printed two images for me at different times which were the maximum size the D800 would create which is a shade less than 20"x30".

If you go to Sam's be careful - make sure they understand what you want printed, when I tried them the operator didn't, I didn't get what I wanted so I went to Office.

Found a printer close to home. FEDEX did a good job on a 17x7 for 3 bucks while I stood at the counter. Next time I will ask for higher grade paper. That will bump the price up. This one is on thin but glossy paper and looks good in a frame. Live and learn, hopefully.
