No, but I'm open to learn. I'm more into 1/35th scale tanks. Really need to build a light box to get even lighting of my models.
Well by seeing what I have done, this should give you at lest a small hint as to take photos of plastic models. I have used my Topcon to take a lot of them, but as I was given a canon A620, I've been using it for the last 3 weeks. I have also been taking photo off my t.v. screen. for the most part I have used a flash with my topcon, but the conon has it's own built in flash.
I have been working on a model of the space cruiser yamato and after I get it painted. I'll be doing a lot of photos of it as it is #1 in the building area.

OH Please post when you are done, I have just Finnished re-watching the whole Star Blazers series on Netflix. I am now excited.
I have watched the Star Blazer video from Netflix too. And I have news for you, as that comes from Japan, I have found out that was a total of 5 or 6 anime movies made and there was a Live Action one made too last year. In the photo you see the 1/500 scale model I've been working on. I was sent a check off for a 1/35 scale of the same model. I first saw the anime movie back in '79 and I now have a glass disk that was made for the 10th anniversary of the movie. I got a very small model over in Hawaii and I'm building it.
wow I just went to Heaven and I'm alive ...
SUPER COOL POST. BV
I love plastic models, takes me back to a
better time of life and that's awesome blossome
over thirty years old now
those tanks look good, I've just have built anything like them. In all my years of building I have done just airplanes, and spaceships and such. Right now I have 3 cylon basestars two BSG's, a Warbird from STNG along with my eagle, along with a model that needs building of Moonbase Alpha. I have one model that I need to get all the paints for, it's one for Babylon 5.
ok
there it is a normal shoot!
good to go ... and go get it

William you're a hoot. You talk about reminding you of a better time and you show a picture of a tank. Great shot(two of them)
He shows tanks, but I do sci-fi models like this one.
as everyone can see I have been building since about 1960, but most of the time there where airplanes. In the last 3 years I have moved to scpace / sci-fi models.
I have found that for most of the photos of models I take, my canon A620 work good as it has it's own flash and No film. befor it, I would use only my topcon super d and get the pics done at the super market. but with this canon it's. I'm still have to be carefull in taking the photos and it not simple working with plastic models.
very cool models & photos :)
i used to do this a lot back before i got serious about photography... mostly 1:35 military vehicles, a few 1:48 aircraft. belonged to the local IPMS chapter, the whole bit. here are some of mine...
