If they are really saying that they are ""no line bifocals, they may not be true progressives. A progressive is a continually (progressively) ground lens from the maximum correction prescribed to the least, and within those limits you notice the change as the clarity changes, especially print, but there is no abrupt change, ie. lines.

There are bifocals where the line is not distinct. These are called blended bifocals and are generally inferior to a progressive lens.

I have use progressive for years now. Don't even consider trifocals. I just got new ones (crizal with transition) and they are great. They cost more but are worth. No more sunglasses and they stay cleaner longer and are also easier to clean. Good luck.

Like I said, I have used them all my life, and transition lenses since the early 70's, I just would not wear anything else ( I've tried but hated them).

When the transition lenses first came out they were not that great and my eye doctor spoke out against them. There has been new changes and now they are much better. I hardly notice them changing and am very pleased.
