Adobe CC pushing the limits

I am on the verge of adopting the Photography 9.99 deal but my situation is somewhat unique. I have 2 home locations and my laptop. The license allows me to install it on 2 machines (as long as I don't use them both at the same time) but I have 3 machines. The license agreement also states, and I quote, "If you want to install the software on a third computer, deactivate the software on the computer on which you will no longer use the software. Then, activate the software on the new computer."

Has anyone ever done this? Can I do this multiple times back and forth? So when I go to home #2, I would deactivate home computer #1 and then reverse the process when going back to home #1. Sounds like it would work but I just want to be sure.

This is for Searcher and anyone with REAL knowledge of the procedure. I am (and I know I'm gonna get some nastiness here) not interested in the "I have no idea but here's what I think" responses.

You couldn't get a hold of anyone at Adobe directly to answer this? I mean I'm sure there are members who could answer this question, but if it were me I'd start by trying to go straight to them and then asking here as a source also to see if others have successfully done it.

You can have it on multiple computers. However, you can only have it active on two at any single time. You'll have to sign out on one to activate another if you have more than 3. I have it on 4 computers, again, only active on two.

I've recently had to activate and deactivate the boxed version a couple of times, once when I redid a crashed desktop and once when I went to a new laptop, with no trouble. One thing I don't know is if you do it too often, whether you will trip any red flags at Adobe. I think you need to roust someone at Adobe as has already been suggested.

I've not experienced any problems unless I try to have 3 going at one time.

Just the answer I was hoping for. Thanks.

As a matter of fact I did contact Adobe and was told that only 2 computers would work. They would not expand on that answer but left me with the feeling that maybe you could and maybe you couldn't. Next time I'll impart my whole life story so you won't get your shirt tail in a knot.

David is correct. You can download the programs from CC to as many machines as you access. Only 2 are active at any given time while the rest are deactivated.

Activation is simply a matter of starting one of the programs, logging in to your account when it asks if you want to deactivate one of the active pcs, and saying yes. Your current pc is now activated.

In the beginning, I also researched this question, but only got 2 pcs. No expansive explanation. Then I was at an Adobe HQ seminar with Terry Smith and he explained the multiple pc availability, but not why customer service didn't address the question as fully.

Many thanks, David and JBudu for your assurances. I feel much better about taking the plunge. Now I just need a good excuse to give the IT dept. so I can also have it at work...  ;)

Didn't the fad of putting your shirt tail in a knot end in like the late 80's or early 90's? I could be wrong about that since I wasn't alive during some of that time. I was just curious as to whether or not you had contacted them. I know some members here have tried to contact customer service in the past and had problems with them and others have found their customer service quite helpful. So if you want to put your shirt tail in a knot just because I was asking a question about something you had already done, but not explained that you had done then go ahead.
