I like what you have done here, JJ. You have probably broken all the rules, but it works for me. Imaginatve and original. I was going to suggest that she face into the picture, but I think you got it right.

Masterful use of light. That hint of an eye in the dark is particularly effective. The expression is evocative and the overall effect is wonderful.

I would consider cropping vertical at about the "g" in the image title, side light.
Make a big vertical image to hang on the wall.
