White butterfly on Lilac

While on holiday in New Zealand we visited the Waitangi meeting house and grounds and these white butterflies were flying around around. My favorite is number 1. I like the way the light is on head and wings. Focus was disappointing. No 2 I needed a lower f stop to widen DOF. Shot with my workhorse lens 24-105 canon L lens.

I like all three. It should go without saying that it's rare to find ideal shooting conditions in nature, especially with moving subjects.

They are all lovely! Beautiful bokeh in the background. #1 is especially nice. You kind of catch your breath as you're looking at the butterfly make it's approach. :thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup:
