I usually shoot with either a 60D or an EOS M but just hate to take either one where it could get wet or dirty etc. I finally broke down and got a really fun point and shoot - the Olympus TG-3 "Tough" model. It is waterproof down to 50 feet, dustproof, shockproof, fits in your shirt pocket and has a 4x zoom lens with maximum aperature of f2.0. It has a microscope mode that lets you focus with the lens almost touching the subject, GPS to keep track of where you shot, Wi-Fi so you can download wirelessly to your smart phone or tablet and also so you can control the camera from either of these two. I had the two grandkids over to go swimming the other day and I submit some pictures to prove my point. I had fun! I took the camera in the pool and got pictures I never could have taken with my DSLR. Does it focus fast? You bet it does and looking at the metadata of some of the action shots I had shutter speeds as high as 1?1600th of a second. It froze water droplets in mid air. It froze my grandaughter jumping into the pool. I submit these pictures not as great photographs but as great fun photographs that we will cherish for a long time. It also takes great video and will take time lapse photos and combine them into a video. I haven't had this much fin with a camera in a long time. How much you ask? $319 at B&H or Adorama - might be a bit of a backorder but worth the wait.
Thanks for posting, looks like a nice pocket camera.

These are great photographs because they serve a greater purpose. Photography isnt really about gear, thats just a means to an end. When your granddaughter and others look at these memories in the future, they arent going to be thinking about what kind of camera took them. Well done!

Great pictures and looks like a great camera. Congrats on the grands and good post on what looks like an excellent camera.
That little camera also has focus stacking in camera which is sweet.
My uncle had asked about underwater cameras for activities like snorkeling, thank you for reminding me to recommend the TG-3 to him. :-)
