Old Sign in Boykins, Virginia

This old sign was on the wall of a building in Boykins, Virginia. The photo was made several years ago and may no longer be there. Those old-timers could sell you a buggy or bury you, they were versatile to say the least.

That is really nice. That aged brick wall and the faded paint really add to the photo. One question though, did they they really sell undertakers? The way the sign reads would lead one to believe so. It would be nice if you elliminated the car at the bottom of the phooto.

I like the subject... I wondered if cropping out the car at the bottom would have been better. The sign is old... the car brings me back into the present.

Getting rid of the car is a real undertaking.

Thanks to all who responded and commented.

I respectfully disagree that the top of the car should be removed. This photograph was not intended to be something "arty" - it was intended as a record to show how an old sign had survived through many decades. To remove the car could lead a viewer to believe that the image was just an antique photo that had been hand colorized. The inclusion of the car helps establish that the image was recorded in recent years.

Neverthelss, I appreciate the interest shown. Thanks for taking your time to comment.
