I've talked with four people (non-photographers) we're in a tie. I'll let you folks decide. You can be the bad guys.

I would ask you what you are trying to achieve? Are you trying to go the natural look or are you trying to go natural with man made objects in the photo? If you are going for natural take them out if not leave them. After looking at your photos I came up with this. Me my self I say leave them in. It is part of the landscape. I hope this helps. :-D

If it were not for the adjacent road I would say take them out. But since the road is there anyway then they become part of the overall scene and I say leave them in.

I would take them out, they distract from the scenic landscape you photographed, by the way, is beautiful..

I agree with Al Davis and MT Shooter. They pretty much sum up all there is to be said.

Power lines In or Out - I'll let you folks decide. You can be the bad guys.
Well - - you did a pretty good job of removing the lines - but noticeable traces do remain. Using a Cloning tool might help. I also noticed you left in the phone poles - - if you're going to take out the wires, better take out the poles too.
-
Next - depends on what you're going to do with it. IF you're going to blow it up and hang it on the wall - then the wires to me become a distraction in an otherwise pristine landscape image. IF it's just going to be a 4x6 in a photo album, then they are nearly invisible and not as noticeable.
-
Nahhh - - I take it back - - I DO notice the lines in the smaller image. Get rid of them. Here's the thing - - if you had taken the photo and the lines WEREN'T there - - NOBODY would tell you to ADD IN some Phone Lines. So - if you take them OUT, Nobody will MISS them. IF you leave them IN - at least HALF of the viewers will criticize the image for having them. So you can't lose by removing them {as long as you do it COMPLETELY - and don't leave a visible trace}.

Before I would lend a comment. I would like to see a version without the wires or the road. That might bring it into balance with landscape.

I say leave them in. There are still traces of the lines in the "without" version. Also, there are what appear to be smokestacks and other large power lines in the distance so unless you take those out too you might as well leave them in.

When I first looked at the photograph, I did not see them, but now that I see them, they are glaring. John, it is your photo so make yourself happy,If it we're mine I would remove them. Thanks for posting. Great question

Hi John, nice shot.
I normally don't like 'modern power lines' in this type of scene.
But in your image I actually like these. They look more old fashioned, they're in nice shape, don't detract, and actually help lead the eye down the road. I personally would keep them.
Take care. Mike

The correction leaves much to be desired.

Removing or keeping the wires is not about 'what looks good' but what your intent is. You are the SOLE judge on that.

I prefer it without the lines (and poles).

Thanks folks for taking the time to express your opinions, much appreciated. Al Davis's post changed the dynamic of the question to "Natural not Natural", Ron's post "Sole owner" got me off the fence.
Powerlines OUT! Mother nature wins!! With regards to the OUT editing, it was a hack and slash job to get a rough idea of appearance the final will take a lot more time. Thanks again everyone.
