State capitol buildings are great examples of architecture that will never be seen again. Help me collect a photo of each state capitol. Even if your state has been posted, if your shot angle is different, post it. These wonderful, well-lighted buildings create unique opportunities for night shots when the traffic has cleared and there are no tourists in the way.

That is a huge undertaking. Your photos are are great, my favorite is #3.... see I already forgot the state
LOL...well they can be confusing at first glance. You are referring to Madison, WI. This is sort of a hobby. I love touring these wonderful structures and learning the history of the building and the state. These three represent a sampling of the East, Mid-West, and West. You could post your state.

Oh Judy, thank you! I was searching from mine from SLC when yours popped up. So glad I didn't find mine, as your night shot is much more radiant.

Madison is an exact copy of the US Capital is DC. There may be another state with a similar one.

Nice shots of this historic capitol. Thanks for making fate work for many of us.
This capitol building is made of Granite in New Hampshire, the Granite State.

What a great project idea! Our state capitol, Pennsylvania, is noted (so we're told) as the most handsome capitol in the country due to the mosaics, wood and marble interior on the domed ceiling and courtrooms. It is a regular visiting site for school children every year. I've been there many times, but don't have a picture for you. Hopefully someone does, because it is breathtakingly stunning. If not, you've challenged me to go back and get some!
Yes, Kathi, the PA Capitol in Harrisburg is spectacular. I especially like the old stone bridge with it's many arches leading to it. Would love for someone from PA to contribute to this topic.

It could be marble, but they take it for granite. Ha Ha
this is the state Capitol Building of Annapolis Md., taken during the first of three consecutive 27+ inch snow storms that hit the east coast in 2009-2010. Was great Jeep weather!!!!!!!!!!!!
