So I recently was in the florida keys and I wanted to take this shot of the mangroves and the sky but the sky was overexposed when the mangroves were correctly exposed and then the water and the mangroves were under exposed when the sky was correctly exposed, and I want to overlay the images that I have taken to get the correct exposures for ever 3rd of the photo, does anyone know which editting program I should use and
How to do it? Thanks for the help greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a HDR situation. There are many programs to do that out there, most offer a free trial period. The leader seems to be Photomatix.

see I have tried that and this was my conclusion last time, but I was never able to get the results I wanted.

this was a multiple exposure shot and it still has a hot spot and its a bit cluttered because of the wind in the trees
this was a multiple exposure shot and it still has...

Is photomatix a stand alone program? Bruce M.

Yes it is. Comes in 2 versions, Photomatix Essentials and Photomatix Pro. The free trial leaves several watermarks on your work, but if you buy eother version, the watermarks disappear.

If you would like to avoid fixing it in Post Processing, check out the old film technique of using a graduated neutral density filter.

I have one and it doesn't do enough when there is more than one hot spot

Hey. I don't know what you see, but I do not see any image of mangroves or any sky-line on this post. When did the Mangrove Swamps move North to mingle with pines and River Birch? Hmmm...

Photomatix is not the leader, if anything I would say NIK Software is the leader for their HDR software, however, Photomatix is cheaper. You could do it in Photoshop if you have the experience. But there are others oput there too like OnOne Software and Topaz, all excellent programmes.
