You're welcome. Nothing on the site about pricing yet.

That would be surprising, since I believe it's for GPS that the top of the camera has to be plastic for the GPS to work, which is why the Semi and pro models have not had them.
We'll see. ;-)

Unless they figure a way to have a faux plastic top on top of the metal top, or some other way to implement an external GPS ant.

I could live without GPS or WiFi, could live without the pop up flash too.

I'm mostly interested in a better sensor with less noise at high ISO, faster AF, and 10-12 fps, all of which we seem to be getting.

Don't really care much about video either.

Me too! All the things you listed would be on the top of my list also. I'd add one thing - more AF points.

As for touch screen - I really hope NOT. Call me old fashioned, but I really don't care for touch screen - too gimmicky and I really prefer old-fashioned buttons as dials! I'm also not a huge fan of articulating LCD screens either (just another failure point), although it has come in handy a few times on my SX50

Old information from late last year on Canon Rumors, but $2000 was what was stated. I've heard that an announcement is anticipated in September at Photokina. Let's see.

Dual Digic 6's make it a screamer for action shots. The price is not much different than I paid for my 7D with the kit lens before, four years ago.

I'm with you here, Phil. Better high ISO performance is really needed. It's a pretty good bet that there will be an announcement in September. If you go on Canon's web site, the 7D is listed as "Backordered". Indicating to me that existing stocks are depleted and they are not making any more.

Yup, I don't care for a touch screen or articulating review screen either.
I have an older SX model with the fold out screen and agree it does come in handy at times on that type of camera.

I'm thinking (hoping) for around a $2,000 price point. I say hoping because I have concerns it will come out at $2,200.

The original 7D started at $1,699 and that's what I paid for both of mine almost five years ago.

I plan to put in a pre order for the new 7D the day B&H announces it will be accepting them.

Yeah Ed, I try to stay below 400 as much as possible using the 7D so better ISO performance would be key.

IIRC, five years ago the 7D was announced in Sept. then available around a month after that. Maybe the same release schedule this time?
