Call me lazy, but I'd rather tap the minds of experts...
I've learned several useful things from this exchange! :D Thanks and cheers!

Rayford, to each his/her/their own. I'd rather hear the results out of the labs that are used to compare what the camera manufacturer claims certain things to be.
Cheers!

The experts are very good at what they do, I like to compare camera results on sites like dpreview.
But the experts don't reveal the anamolies that crop up on some camera models.
If I'm going to shell out a lot of money for a camera body or lens, I'd like to see what problems the people that bought these things have encountered during actual use.
The experts AND the (useful) consumer comments should be considered before purchasing a new expensive device.
I read a lot of consumer info on UHH and I consider the source for one thing. If in doubt, I'll Google around to see if the same problems are notorious. "Ask the man who owns one", is what Packard Cars used to advertise.
The experts compare features, the consumer compares durability. They both fit into the purchase picture.
Thanks for the reply, Gordon
