I decided to get cute on Saturday and tubed up a Helios 85mm 1.5 to go shoot flowers with dreams of big bokeh. Nailing focus at f/1.5 is not an easy task. To make matters worse after an hour I started getting an Lens communication error on the camera. Im sure its the cheap EOS chipped adapter I purchased for the M42 mount. Day was shot and I didnt have a single image worth sharing. Today it was back to macro bread and butter, Sigma 105mm tubed up. The macro gods must have forgiven my transgression as I had quite a few subjects to shoot today.

Damsel - These are quite nice but hard to photograph. They stay close to the water, often in high branches. Photo doesn't do the critter justice but at least I finally captured one...

I love them all but, in particular, I like the bees and flies on the flowers. They are soft and dreamy and the bees would make lovely wall prints because they are more lovable than flies.
An Artist with a camera. Exceptional Day..
very nice!!!!! i have never seen a black eyed damsel before
Nice set. Looks like you had an enjoyable outing....
love the color and detail. You are right about the overhead shot, I like it because the flower gives me vertigo. That brown spider looks like he was stalking you.

Thank you Brenda, I always enjoy your comments... I agree, bees are more plesant subjects. At least to my eyeballs.

Thank you Martin, you are too kind. Artist hardly but the sentiment is appreciated.

I started noticing them last year. Always down by the water in the shade of the thicket. Very quick to flight so slow movement is a must when approaching. I got quite the case of jitters approaching this one, pumped up to get the shot. Hopefully next time I'll be more relaxed.

Thank you Piet, I can see that shot giving one a disorienting feeling...
These are all excellent. Nice work.
Your typical excellent work William... I stopped using adapted lenses years ago (not that there is much that I could adapt to my Nikon ) as they just were not worth the hassle...
