help i have lost my love for photography.any ideas or projects to get motivated again.i am just a mom with camera .
I'm sure it's not lost, Linda, it's just ben covered up by other things. Being a mom carries with it alot of other duties concerns and thoughts, that tend to leave other past hobbies and activities on a back burner. When 90% of your waking time is tending to the family and home, it's hard to keep all the other fires burning. Just relax, enjoy your family and keep a camera nearby. When the moments arise take advantage of them. You feel it's lost due to not having the time to devote to it the way you would like to. If possible schedule some alone time to get out with the gear and take some shots, any shots, and then relax and enjoy the art you create.
Take care, love the kids and keep them well.
God bless your days.

Maybe you should PM MWAC (Mom with a camera)?

How old are the kids? You might consider scheduling an afternoon to spend with the kids at a park, zoo, the mall or wherever with the goal being to get some shots of them doing whatever they do. Keep it light and enjoy the time together and at the same time make a photographic account of the afternoon.
It's just like anything else anybody has a passion in, sooner or later...it'll come back to you!

Linda, If you have time to listen to several of these pod casts hosted by Ibarionex Perello, I guarantee he and the other photographers he interviews will help get you motivated again. Arnold

Just don't worry about it. You're putting unnecessary pressure on yourself.
But if you thrive under pressure, try this:
Decide NOT to take any pictures for a month.
See how long it takes before you REALLY want to take some more pictures.
And if it doesn't happen: well, what have you lost?

try something new. if you mostly shoot with say telephotos, go out with a wide angle lens. try different subjects then you usually shoot. iF YOUR CAMERA ALLOWS YOU TO SHOOT IN BLACK AND WHITE AND SHOWS YOU A B/W IMAGE ON YOUR VIEWFINDER, then go spend a day shooting only inb/w. that will force you to look at composition differently instead of relying on color contrast, you have to rely on shape form line and texture. Finally i suggesst the book "learning to see creatively " by bryan petersen. In plain english and wonderfull photos, he will open your eyes to a whole world of photographic oportunities that peoople do not see. readijnjg his book and studying hit the quality and quantity of my work like a hurricaine. i was in a rut , had not touched a camera in over a year. since reading and applying his words, i NEVER have photo block and if there are 4 days in a month where i didn't shoot and download something, its a bad month. good luck. shake things up!!!!
Participate in some of the contests/challenges some photography sites have. I've found that gets me to try new things when I'm in a rut.

Cause I'm full of great ideas... no really I have no clue.
I only really shot when the mood hits me, I could go 2 weeks without touching my camera. Like you I'm a Mom (too 3 wonderful kids), my husband has been travelling since before Christmas and I work full-time so finding the time and energy to devote to photography is hard to do. Do not put any extra pressure on yourself, when the erge hits you then pick up the camera, in the mean-time enjoy being a Mom.
:)
Get off of UHh and start shooting again. Use your family as subjects.
Try 365project.org and see if taking a picture a day and posting it helps. Let me know if you do this so I can follow you. Take care.

I was just listening to a Pod Cast and interviewee (a professional Photographer) said start using your Cell Phone camera to start taking photos. 99% of the people have one and I'm sure you have one too. Just start capturing your children in their creative moments and sharing them with family and friends. Arnold
